In a recent interview with TechCrunch, former presidential candidate Andrew Yang outlined his vision for a new wave of startups focused on lowering the cost of living. He cited examples like Mark Cuban's Cost Plus Drugs, Light Phone, and his own venture, Noble Mobile, a mobile virtual network operator that offers low-cost cell service and rebates for unused data. Yang notes that Americans overpay for housing, food, fuel, transportation, media, and wireless. He believes AI will concentrate wealth and displace workers, creating a market for businesses that return margins to customers.
